International Competitions

Put your international business knowledge to the test!

Academic competitions play an essential part in learning for students. Participation offers a unique opportunity for students to use the knowledge they have gained in the classroom and apply it to real-work situations. These competitions are great for building skills, including leadership, teamwork and communication. They can also be a great way to make new connections and friends. If you want to further your education and knowledge, consider signing up for an academic competition today.

The NIBS competition tests problem solving, decision making, and presentation skills on top of challenging students' business "IQ." Teams compete by analyzing business cases. During the qualifying round in November, team members complete a case analysis that defines the business problem, provides alternative solutions, makes a solution recommendation, and provides a plan for implementation. The top teams compete in the final round at a host university where the teams analyze cases and orally present their findings to the judges.

The Wilson Business team, comprised of Global Associates members, has competed in New Zealand, Montreal, Newfoundland and France.

For this year, the qualifying round will take place in November and the Championship will take place in March. UNI held a virtual competition in 2022 and plans to host the competition live for 2023.

The NASBITE International Student Case Competition is open to all colleges and universities that have an academic business program at the undergraduate level. The NASBITE International Case Competition is a yearlong event that brings together top marketing students to work on an international marketing challenge submitted by a sponsoring organization. The case sponsor, Cleveland Whiskey, will provide a detailed international marketing problem for which it is looking to gain the perspective of top business students who will compete by developing a marketing strategy in an internationally recognized competition. The top three teams will be invited to present their case analysis at the NASBITE International Conference.

The NASBITE competition will be completed in the spring. The last two years have been virtual, but plan to have the top teams be live at the annual conference beginning in 2023.
